"Tension"
Gao Yuhang x kar
Within silence resides boundless power. This work engages with the unpredictable moment through the form of "stone" — rigid in concept, yet fluid in its distortion, fracture, and tension. The creation process begins with randomly joining slabs of clay at varying moisture levels. As they dry naturally, contraction and cracking occur, completing the first shaping by "force." Then, a glaze mixed with coal dust is applied. Fired at 1200°C, the force of the flame further transforms its form, imprinting it with natural fissures and color.
